The Spread of the Spirit in Samaria
Acts: Our Church HIStory
Scripture/Text: Acts 8:4-25; This week we turn to Acts 8 and watch God's story break into Samaria in dramatic, Spirit-empowered ways. As the gospel moves beyond Jerusalem, we see the Father's plan (Acts 1:7-8) unfold, not through comfort, but through persecution. The Spirit's power works through Philip to unite divided peoples and bring joy to an entire city. And as Simon the sorcerer tries to buy what can only be given, we're reminded that the Holy Spirit is the Son's present, a free gift, never for sale. From cosmic mission to personal transformation, Acts 8 shows us that the triune God is still writing His story and He's inviting us to play our part.
Sermon Outline:
1. No Scheme Can Stop the Father's Plan (Acts 8:4-8)
2. No Sorcery Can Surpass the Spirit's Power (Acts 8:9-17)
3. No Sin Can Separate You from the Son's Mercy (Acts 8:18-25)
